  • REx-PN: un Examen Adaptatif Informatis茅

    Le REx-PN est un nouvel examen d’autorisation pour les infirmières auxiliaires autorisées canadiennes. Développé pour le British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) et l’Ordre des Infirmières et Infirmiers de l’Ontario (OIIO) pour faciliter les prises de décision ayant trait à l’autorisation d’exercer.   • REx-PN Using CAT

    The REx-PN is a new Canadian Practical Nurse exam developed for the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) and the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) to assist in making licensure decisions. The exam uses computerized adaptive testing (CAT) to measure each candidate’s competence to perform safely and effectively as a newly licensed, entry-level nurse. CAT is a method for administering exams that merges computer technology with modern measurement theory to increase the efficiency of the exam process.   • COVID 19 & the NCLEX: Testing Availability Webinar

    During the COVID-19 pandemic, NCLEX candidates have had to wait longer or travel farther to take their exams. NCSBN has worked to reopen NCLEX test centers and expand time slots while following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and recommendations. This webinar for educators reviews NCSBN's efforts to restore testing capacity during the COVID-19 pandemic, temporary testing sites and what candidates need to know.

To benefit both students and hospitals during the crisis, NCSBN has joined with other national nursing organizations to promote a practice-academic partnership model.   • NCLEX Examinations Webinar Series: Testing Security and Testing Accommodations 

    Part one of this webinar will highlight the behind-the-scenes security measures at testing centers, incident documentation via case reporting, result score holds as well as NCSBN’s result cancellation process. Part two will summarize the NCLEX testing accommodation process, including the roles of candidates, NCSBN, Pearson VUE and Nursing Regulatory Bodies. It will also highlight an NCLEX Admin system update.

    The reliability of the NCLEX examination is assessed via a decision consistency statistic. This statistic is used instead of a traditional reliability statistic because it captures the reliability of dichotomous pass/fail decisions rather than the reliability of continuous scores or ability estimates.
